Choose your bike
The CRF300 Rally for light, go-anywhere riding. The Ténéré 700 for distance and luggage. Not sure? Tell us the trip and we'll say.
Rentals · Nairobi
A bike instead of a 4x4, a route of your own, and our advice before you go. Two types of bike, from Nairobi: the Honda CRF300 Rally and the Yamaha Ténéré 700.
Self-drive, on two wheels
Kenya's more than what you see on safari. It's the places in between, the places you can reach on two wheels, where you find the real country.
Two types of bike, all owned, serviced and known by us. A two-day minimum, a refundable deposit, and before you leave we sit down with a map and tell you what we know: the roads, the fuel, the places worth a night.
How it works
Simple by design. If you'd rather we led the trip, that's a tour.
The CRF300 Rally for light, go-anywhere riding. The Ténéré 700 for distance and luggage. Not sure? Tell us the trip and we'll say.
Tell us where you want to go and how many days you have. We'll give you the roads worth riding, where the fuel is and where to sleep, from the Rift Valley lakes to the far north. It's part of the hire.
Collect the bike from us in Nairobi, with helmet and jacket if we have your size, luggage and extras if you want them, and go.
The bikes
A light one and a big one, all owned, serviced and known by us. Rates per day in US dollars, two-day minimum, refundable deposit.

Light, reliable and happy anywhere. Easy on sand and rock, tall enough for the rough stuff, frugal enough to make the fuel stops in the north. The 2025 model has updated suspension, and we've fitted uprated springs.

A big dirt bike with the power for the tarmac and the manners for the dirt. The one for distance and luggage: it takes full panniers (68 litres) and navigation for a proper overland trip.
We've ridden most of the country, from the Rift Valley lakes to Turkana. Tell us your plan and we'll tell you what we know.

Two-day minimum on every hire. Rates in US dollars. Hire runs from Nairobi.
Where people ride
Three directions from Nairobi, to give you an idea. We'll help you shape whichever fits your days.

Lakes and escarpments, and dirt within an hour of the city. The natural first trip, and a fine long weekend.

Conservancy country north of Mount Kenya, and the start of the sand tracks into the Mathews Range.

The Ndotos and Turkana. A week or more, real distance, and the trip we most like to talk through.
