SHORT TOURS

At Bert's Bikes we endeavour to provide all the tools you need to plan and execute your own adventures, see our routes and planning page for more details. However, we also appreciate that sometimes it's great to have a trusted guide leading the way, providing local insights and any required support along the way.

We spent time compiling some of our favourite routes into a range of tours suited to a variety of different skill levels.  All these routes assume the provision of a Kibo 250 from Bert's Bikes but prices are significantly less when providing your own bike. Explore our range below!

Suswa Loop

Difficulty: Intermediate to Advance

Time: 6 - 7 Hours

Off-Road: 80%

Minimum Riders: 2

Price: $130 pp (Includes Conservancy entry fee)

Kicking things off through Dagoretti Forest, we drop off the Nairobi plateau and into the Rift Valley before navigating dry river beds and passing through traditional pastoralists' land. We climb Suswa from the west, get a great view of the inner crater whilst we eat lunch. After lunch, we visit a local Masai homestead,  before heading to check out the bat caves and lava tunnels on the Eastern Rim then down the mountain and  back to Nairobi.

Stretches of deep sand and some technical rocky sections make this tour only for confident riders.

Mile 46

Difficulty: Intermediate

Time: 7 - 8 Hours

Off-Road: 80%

Minimum Riders: 2

Price: $160 pp (Includes lunch)

Dropping quickly out of Nairobi through Dagoretti Forest, heading south under the Ngong hills then Champagne ridge, before looping back around to Nairobi after a hearty meal. Traditional Maasai living, wide open spaces and often a Giraffe or Zebra or two, this is a great day trip for those looking to expand their horizons beyond Nairobi to see what lies just beyond the hills.

The riding here is not super technical but the distance is relatively far, so this is for riders confident to keep speeds up off-road.

Rolling valleys, flowing streams and twisting roads characterise this gentle and relaxed tour.
