Routes
Choose from one of our tried and tested routes. Whatever your preference from mountains to deserts, easy cruising to technical riding, we have options that will suit you. We use gaia.gps to record and manage our routes but these can be exported for gpx files if you prefer to navigate using different tools.
How it works:
Access our library of routes here. Routes are split into regions within Kenya. Routes can viewed by region by toggling the eye icon next to each folder or route. Each route has a difficulty rating and brief description of the road surface.
Ratings:
Green - Easy
Blue - Medium
Black - Hard
Purple - Scenic, tarmac roads.

All route GPX files can be downloaded. All routes have been tried personally by the Bert's Bike team.
Difficult is subjective to the time it was first ridden & may change with weather, road works or skill-level. It is added to serve as a guide for those less confident. Some easy & medium routes may have small stretches of more technical riding, hard routes typically describe those where there are long stretches of deep sand or rocks.
Tarmac roads are not added to the library as they are easily discovered without help. The only exception to this is scenic roads that shouldn’t be missed, even by those that prefer the dirt. These are marked in purple.

How it works: Get in touch and let us know your budget, time limit and adventure preferences. As this is a bespoke service we charge a small fee to put together navigational routes and do any research needed in areas we're less familiar with.
Tours
We believe the best adventures are those when you’re in charge. Every trip should have the freedom to explore a track that catches your eye or take breaks when you need them. Traditional tours don’t offer this flexibility, so we always encourage you to step up and plan your own experience. However we do offer a range of tried and tested tours here.

If you're ready to take the leap into planning you're own adventure we’re more than happy to help you plan your route or choose from our library of routes. All our bikes are set up with phone holders and USB chargers so you can navigate yourself easily on your chosen path.
